With guest conductor, Oliver-John Ruthven

An evening of popular French and English music and composers.

In the first half, Chabrier’s Espagna, Satie’s Gymnopedie, Meditation from Thais featuring our leader Amanda Lake, excerpts from Bizet’s L’Arlesienne Suites and more.  

In the second half, Farnon’s Westminster Waltz, Elgar’s Chanson de Matin, Vaughan Williams’ Folk Song Suite, Delius’ Walk to the Paradise Garden and music by Eric Coates and Malcolm Arnold.

 

14 July 2012  - Summer Proms Concert

Church on the Heath, Elvetham Heath, Fleet ,Hampshire, GU51 1BF

Traditional Proms favourites, combined with a Diamond Jubilee theme including Walton’s Crown Imperial March, Coates’ Three Elizabeths Suite which was featured in the 1960s TV epic Forsyte Saga, Handel’s Fireworks Music and a couple of Olympian surprises.  

We also look forward to performing Tchaikovsky’s Andante Cantabile and Pezzo Capriccio with Jonathan Ayling, our guest cello soloist.
